Le Mans 2009

Well its that time of year again, Off to Le-Mans we go :-)

Saturday 6th June. Spent the day packing and unpacking the car, first attempt the Generator smelled to much of Petrol fumes, so everthing out and tripple bag the genny and pack it all in again, that seems to have done the Job, so write a Bon Voyage message on www.clubarnage.com and its of the the In Laws to drop off Beyla (our dog)

First stage of the trip is to head one and a half hours south to my appartment in Gardermoen as we have an early start the next day.

Sunday 7th June. My Alarm goes off at 4.00am drag myself out of bed, make some Breakfast to eat on the road and the Journey starts again this time its two and a half hours south again to the Ferry terminal at Larvik to catch the ColorLine speed ferry to Denmark. so after blindly following the GPS to where the old Colorline terminal used to be, stopped at a gas station and asked the way to the new terminal. (Dont ya just love GPS) The boat comes as a nice surprise last year we sailed on a budget ferry and it looked like it was fit to sink, but this time its a nice new high speed boat 3 hour instead of 9. We have also treated ourselves to Buisness class seats for the trip, so nice comfy chairs with WiFi connection and movies to watch. Makeing good use of the WiFi by Starting this blog, so far it seems like a nice smooth crossing but we are still inside the Fjord in Norway so will see how it is once we are in open water.

Summer 2008

Myself and Maja spent 2 weeks in the South of England this Summer, we treated ourselves to a hire car for the 2 weeks so we did not have to steal my Parents car, We did not have any set plans except that Maja wanted to spend a few days in Cornwall.

The weather for the first few days was not great, so we headed for Fishbourne The remains of the largest Roman palace in England. there are some amazing mozaics that have been uncovered.

You can check out the pictures here.

After we headed off to get some Lunch so i drove to Majas favourite Pub the Black Rabbit in Arendal, it is a lovely spot along side the river in the shadow of Arendal Castle. When Lunch was finished we decided to burn off the food with a walk around the Castle grounds and the Castle. The main Castle is not that old as Castles go but the Keep dates back to 1066 Norman times.

You can check out the pictures here.

Canada Trip

Thursday, 06 March 2008

Myself and Hans have been in Canada on a course for Aircraft Metal Bonding. We started out at 5 pm and flew from Gardermoen to Frankfurt in Germany, where we had to transfer to another Aircraft to Toronto. After a 9 hour flight we picked our Hire car and headed to London Ontario a 2 hour drive.

Sunday we had free so getting up early we headed of to Niagara Falls as it seemed this was something that had to be done when we were so close. the town around the falls is a bit of a dissapointment  but the falls them selves are magnificent and more so in the winter with the ice formations around the slower moving areas. You can check out pictures from the Trip in the Gallery
